Our Musical Philosophy
Our goal is to showcase the best Celtic, bluegrass, blues, gospel, roots and singer/songwriters, that we can book from anywhere in the world.
It’s a balancing act. We try to blend all these music traditions to offer something for every musical taste and to create interesting main stage line-ups and sessions where diverse styles can be shared.
We strive to achieve the following:
- 50% Canadian artists
- Examples of folk music from all around the world
- An eclectic mix of familiar favourites, big names and first-time artists

Edmonton Folk Music Festival is not primarily a new performer festival, only a small portion of our acts are booked from unsolicited applications.
