Willie and Lobo

This violin and guitar duo is the product of three somewhat disparate elements: Willie, Lobo and a bar owner. Violinist Willie was playing the same bar as classical guitar playing Lobo when the bar owner decided maybe they should play together. These circumstances may not seem particularly unusual-until you consider that Willie is from Florida, Lobo is Bavarian, and the bar they were playing at is in Puerta Vallarta.

Since the two musicians got together, the results have been as diverse as their travels. From Jimi Hendrix, salsa, Middle Eastern chants, Irish jigs and Scottish/Appalachian reels to zydeco and tex mex-Willie and Lobo have shared musical experiences and complemented one another's styles.

To date, they have a compilation album and three CDs to their credit, and their approach to making music together has been described as "instantaneous combustion" with a generous helping of passion.
