Marc Jordan
You
won't hear any bubbly, feel-good tunes when you listen to Marc Jordan perform. What you will hear is an impressive live show, expert musicianship and intricate, intense, poetic lyrics. He calls his writing style music noir, for his songs play out like movies and are full of dark imagery.
Centred in Toronto, this internationally-acclaimed musician and songwriter has been around for over 20 years. Jordan first tasted success with his 1977 album, Mannequin. It won praise throughout North America and Europe, as well as a Juno nomination for Most Promising Male Vocalist. Eight albums later, Jordan is also well-known for his writing credits. He's the songwriter behind hits for Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, Cher, Kenny Loggins, Jeff Healey and Amanda Marshall.
In the last few years, Jordan has begun performing live again and, in the fall of 1996, he released his latest album, Cool Jam, Black Earth. Jordan's wife, talented vocalist Amy Sky, harmonizes with him on the album in the song "Catch the Moon." Marc will be accompainied by Hugh Marsh and Steve MacKinnon.
