Greg Brown

Greg Brown, a native of Iowa, is a singer-songwriter and teller-of-tales whether he's taking an idealistic look at the past or putting a humorous spin on life's harsh realities. He presents everyday life in a refreshingly honest, astonishingly poignant way and keeps audiences nodding in recognition.

With 11 albums under his belt, including one for children and a collaboration with Bill Morrissey that earned him his first Grammy nomination, Brown's music is an elaborate mix of blues, folk, gospel and rock. Other musicians, such as Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin, have found the magic in his music and recorded his songs. In addition to his lyrics, it's the warmth of Brown's deep, rambling voice that makes him distinctive to his audience.
