Blue Rodeo
A warm welcome to Blue Rodeo, back for the third time in four years. On the heels of the release of their sixth album, Tremelo, Blue Rodeo brings us its signature style which is reminiscent of sunsets, snapshots and shooting stars. A blend of rock, folk and country laces these multi-layered, lyrical songs and allows the listener to roam through the minds and hearts of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, the band's songwriters.
Keelor
and Cuddy started on a very different path after graduating from university. They created a new wave punk group called the HiFis, then left Canada to tackle New York. Upon their return, they set out to create Blue Rodeo, a name which reflects the group's country leanings. Today, Blue Rodeo is made up of Basil Donovan, on bass; Kim Deschamps, on pedal and lap steel; James Gray, on keyboards; and Glen Milchem, on drums; along with vocalists Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, on guitar. In contrast to the maxed-out, over-the-edge punk sound of its past, Blue Rodeo now has a more tranquil, collected approach, yet still maintains some of its original unruliness.
