Tim Williams
Tim
Williams has lived a number of musical lives, and he credits our Festival with a role in his most recent incarnation.
His career dates back to Southern California of the late '60s when he was a young blues player in the coffee house scene. By the time he was 19 he was opening shows for John Fahey and Hoyt Axton, and on his way to a record deal before he reached 21.
He continued to develop a reputation as a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist before moving to Vancouver in 1970. He continued in the same vein, opening for the likes of Albert Collins, Lightnin' Hopkins and Taj Mahal, until the Disco Drought of the mid-'70s.
Williams turned to country music, and eventually left full-time performing for logging, ranch work and radio announcing. He kept his hand in with occasional weekend gigs until his 1988 Festival appearance brought about a rebirth.
Since then, he's returned to the concert, festival and club circuit, both solo, and as a member of Triple Threat.
