Martin Simpson

Martin Simpson is a guitar player's guitarist. This year he will be joined by fellow musicians who put together Martin's brilliant blues album Smoke and Mirrors. Martin's consummate skill and the depth of his playing overshadowed only by the "range of his material and the passionate expression he brings to each performance." He explores and experiments to improve his art. One of Martin's most memorable experiences was sharing a stage with th Seeger clan--Pete, Peggy, Mike, Penny and an assortment of sons and daughters. His varied musical vocabulary includes a smooth slide technique, thumpy English-style propulsive finger picking and percussive technique. The band are: Martin Simpson, Eric Aceto, Doug Robinson, and Hank Roberts.
