Anne Lederman
Anne
Lederman is from the Prairies, and her music reflects the melting pot that makes up Western Canada. She's a multi-instrumentalist in the traditional sense, so listen for clogging, bones and jaw harp, but listen especially to her fiddling, as well as her singing.
Her current project, 'Fiddlesong', is a collaboration with bassist Laura Cesar and accordionist Sacha Luminsky. Together, they explore a variety of cultures: Metis, French-Canadian, Scots-Irish, and more; she sings in Gaelic, Yiddish, French, Ojibwa, Ukrainian and English.
She has also played in a number of groups: Muddy York, Izvor and The Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band. Those familiar with the 'Road to Avonlea' television series will already know her as the fiddle of Gus. Laura Cesar on bass and Sacha Luminsky on accordion join Anne.
